You can submit your lantern in
one of following categories:

We know that you’ll be making beautiful lanterns in the month of September!
Some of them will be inspired by our artists Simon, Flavia, Chloe and Lisa and their own lanterns that you’ll find here.
You may also want to make your own lanterns inspired by your own surroundings. This new initiative is for you!
What we are proposing is the creation of a joint lantern-making recipe book! We will publish a selection of your lanterns, according to the criteria established below.
Send us a photo of your lantern and a description of the steps that you have followed.
This autumn, we will publish a digital book on our website with the winning entries. It will serve as a souvenir of this year's event and as inspiration for next year's participants! There will be a prize in each category.
No need to design a complicated lantern.
We’re sure that yours will be beautiful in any case!
The other lanterns published in the book will receive a $10 gift certificate.

Criteria for the competition

The lantern must be handmade by the person/group submitting the application.

You can make your lantern at home

There is no participation fee for the competition.

The winners will be chosen by a jury in October 2020.

The person/group sending the submission must work or reside in Quebec.

We reserve the right to ask you to take a photo of the lantern again if necessary.

Photographs of the winners' lanterns will be shared on social networks.
-
The winners will be announced on the Rivers of Light social networks and via a personalised email sent to the participants.

A cash prize is offered for the winner of each category
